New Challenge Announced

Article Posted: 7/14/2011– The United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), has announced its latest challenge: Special Ops Transport. The objective includes research and development of concepts for new and innovative solutions to transport two warfighters and their gear in mountainous terrain from drop-off point Alpha, into and through a hostile area to point Bravo, and then back out to an extraction point Charlie as quickly and safely as possible, without being detected.

The AFRL Challenge seeks individuals and teams who believe they have the right combination of knowledge, ingenuity, resources and support to introduce the concepts and technologies of our future. The concept is simple: the Air Force recognizes that people are naturally inspired by competition and that great ideas aren't limited to organizations or bounded by geographic locations. They come from individuals all over the world who are passionate about an idea and have the vision and resources to see it to fruition.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." – Margaret Mead
